Citrus Health Network welcomed State Senator Ileana Garcia on October 18, 2022 for a check presentation for an allocation of $2.5 million from the Florida Legislature for the initial development of a campus to serve Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) who are survivors of human trafficking.
Citrus is so appreciative of Senator Garcia’s support and efforts during the 2022 legislative session to ensure that this important project received funding.
Upon completion, the projected campus will provide a full, comprehensive continuum of care for CSEC youth including a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP), Specialized Therapeutic Group Homes, foster homes, and an educational facility. The campus will be on a 34-acre plot of land in northwest Miami-Dade that is owned by the State of Florida and leased to Citrus Health Network.
Senator Garcia presented the ceremonial check to Citrus Health Network Board of Directors Chair Pat Croysdale, President and CEO Mario Jardon, COO Maria Alonso, and In-House Counsel Olga Golik.
