Comienza Portal de Asistencia de Alquiler para Individuos y Familias Afectados por COVID-19 de la Red de Asistencia de Vivienda de Dade (HAND)

MIAMI, FLA. — El Programa de Asistencia de Vivienda de la Red de Dade (HAND por sus siglas en inglés) lanzó hoy un Portal de Asistencia de Alquiler, específicamente dirigido a ayudar a las personas y familias afectadas por la emergencia de salud pública COVID-19.

El Programa HAND es una asociación de múltiples agencias con el condado de Miami-Dade y los municipios locales, liderado por Citrus Health Network. El objetivo del programa es promover la estabilidad de la vivienda y la prevenir el desalojo, el cual se cumple al proporcionar asistencia de alquiler temporal para individuos y familias elegibles. 

El Condado Miami-Dade, la Ciudad de Miami y la Ciudad de Hialeah recibieron asignaciones de fondos de la Subvención de Soluciones de Emergencia (ESG por sus siglas en inglés) del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los Estados Unidos (HUD por sus siglas en inglés) como resultado de la Ayuda, Ayuda y Ayuda Económica Coronavirus Ley de Seguridad (CARES por sus siglas en inglés). El Programa HAND fue seleccionado por los tres gobiernos locales para administrar y desembolsar estos fondos.

El Programa HAND se creó por primera vez en el 2009 después de la recesión. Ahora se ha ampliado para ayudar a aquellos que han perdido sus empleos o tienen menos ingresos, debido a la emergencia de salud pública de COVID-19, y han recibido una notificación del propietario de un plan para solicitar el desalojo.

Un hogar puede ser elegible para recibir asistencia de alquiler de COVID-19 para el alquiler pasado vencido, el alquiler actual vencido y el alquiler para los próximos meses.

El portal de asistencia de alquiler HAND COVID-19 estará abierto para aceptar cuestionarios de detección a partir de las 12:00 p.m. el 27 de mayo de 2020 hasta las 11:59 p.m. el 5 de junio de 2020.

Los posibles solicitantes con necesidades especiales o aquellos con acceso limitado a Internet, pueden presentar una solicitud llamando a la Línea de ayuda para personas sin hogar al 1 (877) 994-4357 y seleccionando la Opción # 3, o el Programa HAND al (305) 231-7667.

Para calificar para la asistencia de alquiler de COVID-19, los solicitantes deben cumplir con los siguientes criterios:

  • Personas que residen en el condado de Miami-Dade y que perdieron su trabajo o tienen menos ingreso a partir del 1 de marzo de 2020 o después.
  • Los ingresos del hogar son inferiores al 50 por ciento de los ingresos medios del área, según los criterios de HUD. (es decir, para una persona soltera, el ingreso mensual es inferior a $ 2,666 o $ 3,429 para una familia de cuatro).
  • El alquiler del hogar es igual o inferior al 120 por ciento de las tarifas del Mercado Justo del Condado de Miami-Dade, según los criterios de HUD (es decir, $ 1,216 para una eficiencia / estudio, $ 1,432 para una unidad de una habitación o $ 1,800 para una de dos habitaciones unidad).

Debido a que los fondos para el programa son limitados y se espera que la necesidad exceda los fondos disponibles, una lotería computarizada determinará el orden en que los solicitantes elegibles pueden recibir asistencia. Sin embargo, la selección en la lotería no garantiza la asistencia del Programa HAND. Los hogares deben cumplir con éxito todos los requisitos de elegibilidad y presentar los documentos requeridos para las determinaciones finales de asistencia.
