Citrus Health Network has achieved the following accreditations and certifications from the Joint Commission:
- Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation
- Behavioral Health Care Accreditation
- Primary Care Medical Home Certification
- Behavioral Health Home Certification
The Joint Commission is an independent, non-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 20,500 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
The National Committee on Quality Assurance
The Citrus Med Clinic has been recognized as a Level III Patient Centered Medical Home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA).
NCQA is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA develops quality standards and performance measures for a broad range of health care entities. These measures and standards are the tools that organizations and individuals can use to identify opportunities for improvement. The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol of quality. Organizations that earn the seal must first pass a rigorous, comprehensive review and must annually report on their performance.
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
Citrus Health Network received sponsoring institution and program accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME); making it the first Federally Qualified Health Center in the country accredited to host a residency education program in psychiatry.
Citrus Health Network also holds ACGME Accreditation for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program.
The ACGME is a private professional organization responsible for the accreditation of about 9,500 residency education programs. The ACGME accredits residency programs in 140 specialty and subspecialty areas of medicine.
The American Psychological Association & The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers
Citrus Health Network is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association’s Office of Accreditation and Program Consultation for a Doctoral Internship Program as well as for a Postdoctoral Residency Program, the only accredited program in the nation to be based in a community mental health center. In addition, the training program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and observes all rules for intern and postdoctoral resident selection as established by that organization.
